Online Bulletin
Acts 15:1–2, 22–29: Psalm 67 “O God, let all the nations praise you!” Revelation 21:10–14, 22–23; John 14:23–29. Each of today’s readings looks toward the future while assuring us of God’s continuing presence with us. The apostles rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them as to which Mosaic practices are necessary for all Christians. The author of Revelation envisions a new Jerusalem, radiant in the glory of God. In the Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to teach them, to remind them of his words, and to advocate for them. In the presence of the Spirit, let us listen to God’s word.
Domenica 6A Di Pasqua
From the Pastor’s Desk
“Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.” (John 14:23)
We’ve all experienced it: the moment someone special walks into the room, and suddenly the atmosphere shifts. Energy rises, conversations become livelier, smiles emerge, and laughter flows more freely. That one person brings with them a special light, a kind of contagious joy. Whether it’s a close friend, a beloved family member, or someone with a natural gift for lifting others' spirits, their presence makes everything better. Because of this, we find ourselves drawn to them, and we want them around as much as possible.
Who is that person to you? The Gospel today invites us to recognize a far greater presence, one whose arrival does not just shift the atmosphere temporarily but transforms it forever: the presence of God Himself. Jesus offers us something truly precious. He says that if we love Him and keep His word, then not only will He come to us, but He and the Father will make their dwelling with us. God does not just come for a brief visit. He desires to stay. To remain. To live within us.
Think about that for a moment: the Creator of the universe wants to make His home in your heart. And His presence does more than bring joy or energy, it brings deep peace, stability, and a sense of purpose that nothing in this world can match. As Jesus says to his disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you.” He brings healing where there is hurt, light where there is confusion, and calm where there is chaos.
But God’s dwelling within us is not automatic. It is an invitation, and we play a part. “Whoever loves me will keep my word.” That is our side of the relationship. We are called to respond to God’s love with obedience: to listen to His voice in Scripture, to follow His example of love and mercy, and to live in a way that reflects our trust in Him. When we do this, when we express our love for Him not just with our words but with our lives, we make room for Him to dwell within us.
This week, take a moment to reflect: Is God a visitor in your life, or is He at home in your heart? Do you turn to Him only when it is convenient, or is His word a guiding light in your daily decisions? God’s love is always ready, always near, but He waits for us to open the door. And let us make a sincere effort this week to love Jesus more deeply by keeping His word faithfully. In doing so, we welcome not only His blessings but also His very presence, which transforms our lives and becomes a blessing to everyone around us. Fr. Vien Nguyen, SDB Parochial Vicar

Farewell and Thank You, Mrs. Simons! As this school year comes to a close we bid a sad farewell to Mrs. Barbara Simons, the founder and Director of our Laura Vicuña Pre-Kindergarten. Mrs. Simons founded the Pre-K (the oldest Catholic Pre-K in the City) in 1987, under the pastorate of Fr. Jerry Bonjean, and she has shepherded it for almost 40 years.
Barbara has nurtured generation upon generation of children, (at least 1,000) most of whom went on to Saints Peter and Paul School. There are not enough words to describe what that has meant, how much she has given to so many, how many young lives have been pointed in the right direction! An indication of how important the Pre-K has been in so many lives is the testimony of those who have attended and have such fond memories. But we are a family here, and her work at the Pre-K is only a part of what Barbara has given. She has been a trusted advisor, bazaar chair, parish council member and much more.
For the past two years Barbara has been working hard with Ms. Jessyca Ng, who will serve as our new Director. Barbara is irreplaceable, but we have full confidence that Jessyca will carry on her great work and keep the Laura Vicuña Pre-K a beacon of Salesian education. If you would like to send Barbara a thank you note or token of appreciation, please send to Barbar Simons, Laura Vicuña Pre-Kindergarten, 660 Filbert St. San Francisco, CA 94133.
